Fabric Stash Frenzy

Does your fabric collection look like this...?

If you are like me, there are piles of fabric in every available space. I live in a small space without a designated craft room/space, so I have fabric in my closet, in dresser drawers and folded into flat boxes underneath my furniture.  I have to take out boxes one by one to see whats in them, which lengthens the time it takes to start a project.

Recently I a saw a blog post about a great way to organize fabric using plastic comic-book board inserts. Its a great way to display your fabric for easy access!

Grandma's Button Jar

I remember going to my great grandmothers house, around age 5 or 6, and going straight for her huge, magical button tin. I would pour the all of the buttons out onto her bed and dig in, grabbing handfuls and letting them pour through my fingers. Buttons of all colors, sizes and sparkle.

As I grew up and began collecting my own buttons, I too kept them in a large jar. When doing projects I would pour them out on the rug and dig around till I found what I needed. As much as I still enjoy digging through piles of buttons, it can make me a little crazy.

I recently found the perfect use for some of the many different sized jars that I cant seem to throw away. I use them to organize the buttons by color/style/ size. Now my buttons are much easier to access, and pretty too.
